Melania Trump bombshell: First Lady in DEPORTATION shock under new US immigration rules

The First Lady is alleged to have breached immigration rules when she first entered the country in 1996, Associated Press claims.

Documents seen by AP suggest Mrs Trump – then named Melania Knauss – was paid for modelling work after entering the US on a visitor's visa.

New arrivals are barred from working unless they gain legal permission.
The Slovak-American allegedly earned $20,000 (£16,000) during a seven-week stint in the country before gaining the right to work.

In 2001 she applied for citizenship and became a US national in 2006.
Now the alleged indiscretion could land her in hot water under new immigration rules introduced by her own husband.

Under the new rules, immigration officials are required to remove foreign nationals who have “engaged in fraud or willful misrepresentation in connection with any official matter or application before a government agency”.

Lawyers told Slate magazine the former model would be in breach of these rules as she did not declare the earnings before gaining the right to work.

If Trump’s executive order had come into effect in the 90s, Melania could have been deported.
